The Latvian Rifle Regiment Memorial Site

THIS MEMORIAL SITE WAS CREATED IN 2015 FOR THE 100TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE FORMATION OF RIFLE REGIMENT DIVISION.

Sculptor Ojārs Feldbergs realized the memorial object with financial support from the Latvian Republic’s Ministry of Defence.

The object is composed of rows of boulders placed in the vicinity of World War 1 trenches. The placement of these boulders is divided into two distinct parts – one dedicated to the Latvian Rifle Regiment soldiers, the other to their relatives and loved ones who remained at home. The memorial was unveiled on 8th August, 2015 by Raimonds Bergmanis, Minister of Defence.
